Automotive Diagnostic OBD2 Scanner

OBD II Experts help needed!

I am seriously considering to purchase a good quality OBD II scan tool and have read many technical literature reviews on Actron diagnostic tools. Are they one of the top brands out there, or should I consider other brands? I like technical challenges even though I am not a technician of any sort.

Any sincere experiences and suggestions are welcome before I commit to my final purchasing decision. I am hoping anyone can guide me in the right direction. Thanks everyone for reading my boring post.

Acton diagnostic tools are very good “overall” for most vehicles, with a guarantee that they will work on all 1996 onwards vehicles. They have excellent customer service and are built with robust plastic materials too. As long as you check that your vehicle is actually and fully OBDII compliant, you should not have any problems. Always remember to check for vehicle compatibility before purchasing and you should be fine. All the major brands have their own online sites, go through their resources section, or details and specification pages for that product model and you should  find a  list of vehicle compatibility.  They havea wide range of engine diagnostic tools, including mechanical testers.

I always suggest that you will buy the latest model you can afford as there is not so much difference when searching online through Amazon, eBay etc for such new products. The reason is that these top sellers buy in huge quantities and can get good bargain prices, which they partially offer to their customers to sell even more than their online sales competitors.
