In there any comparison chart for Actron OBD AutoScanners?
Actron seems to be a well-known OBD reader/scanner manufacturer. But throughout its website and all over the Internet, I could not find a single comparison chart on so many AutoScanners they have made. Not sure if they are intentionally doing so. Has anyone found this type of comparison chart?
I am quite sure you were referring to the Equus Innova comparison charts between their own serial models. Unfortunately Actron marketing strategies are quite different compared to the Equus company.
Yes Actron are intentionally branded, and they also do emphasize that their scanners work on both Domestic (US), European and Japanese vehicles after 1996. They do seem to keep things slightly difficult to compare. Because it generates more interest in its latest product ranges, thus keeping you hyper-focused on the latest model. Honestly unless you are not buying the cheapest option available for obd2 scanners, I would personally choose the latest model. Go to places where there is huge selling competition like eBay or Amazon and find the best deals there. You can easily find them to be 40-50% cheaper from the auto parts stores!
The same is true, if you choose to buy an OBD fault code reader instead. But to be honest these devices are cheaper when compared to a scanner for a reason. They only have limited functions in getting the fault codes and reset faults function. So in this case there isn’t much of a choice between reader models. Still finding the cheapest deals might help you choose the biggest model which will have some more extra functions which might come useful.
