Elm327 Obd2 trouble

Hello my friends. My GMC Envoy was not starting so I went to scan for any trouble codes as I saw the engine check light on. When the mechanic doing the test attached the device it did not read any codes from the ECU saying there is no trouble code. I asked him to unplug the throttle position sensor wire and as he unplugged the wire one more engine check light appeared on the dashboard. It was slightly bigger in size than the normal engine check light and had an arrow facing downwards. Why are there two engine check light, what’s the reason? Why can’t it be diagnosed through the obd2 reader. I’m using the ELM327 ver 1.3a with ScanXL.

The arrows pointing down symbol is a low coolant warning. If you can’t read the code because it displays “communication error” you have a blown fuse. Your ALDL may be tied in with the auxiliary plug. Look for a blown fuse and replace it. You should be OK after.
