Automotive Diagnostic OBD2 Scanner

How can I get a free or cheap pcm tuning software on my laptop for my obd2 truck’s 5.3L vortec engine?

I’m trying to tune my own pcm. I am quite good at it but I just can’t find any software for my particular budget. The software I looked at were prohibitively expensive (worth more than my truck!)

Matco Tools offers a scanner programmer tool that is 3,000. However, they also sell the adapters for different connections and the software to comunicate with ALL GM, Ford, Chrystler and Foreign cars. This may work since you already have the laptop. This is what I’m looking into right now. I have not yet found anything free online which can be downloaded, but I’m quite optimistic and will keep an eye for anything which might appear under my radar.
