Matco Can400 Obdii Eobd scanner

Matco OBDII/EOBD - CAN400 Diagnostic Scanner

I have a simple question regarding price ranges against other branded diagnostic tools. They seem to be on the more expensive side when comparing them with other scanner makes. Are these the best tools you can ever own, or is it just brand inflation prices? I am having a difficult time trying to compare like with like for the best value and performance…. Can anyone suggest and explain what I’ll need for my Honda 2002 import car?

I haven’t had any experience with Matco tools, both mechanical and electronic, including their famous scanner pictured above. They have been around in the tool manufacture and supply industry for a long time. They started out in the late 1940′s and started selling their own  professional products since 1980. They are also found in the Fortune 500 list through their subsidiary Corporation, Danaher.

The main reason I think they seem so expensive online is because you probably landed on their own official online shopping cart. This is the real estimated tool or product value, and that is what you’ll be paying for if you buy directly from them. The trick when buying new items online is to find a huge network of professional online dealers which sell their bulk purchased products in online market places like Amazon, eBay, Buy.com or any other reputable and secure market places. They dealers try and beat each other in the price range so you will ultimately find the best deals ever, if you know how to do you searches correctly.

Regarding the scanner’s compatibility with your Honda import, I don’t know anything. If you decide to go the Matco route be sure to confirm that it works well on your car by asking. Never assume that they will work unless you are ready to face some disappointments. You should not be entitled by law for a refund if the product is working as intended but is not compatible with your vehicle. If you do manage to get a refund, it is the company’s own discreet decision, so be responsible and check your own affairs before the purchase is done. I would rather go for the brands found at Amazon like Actron or Equus Innova for that reason alone (there are many competing traders which is good for the customer YOU)
