Is it possible to get the car’s statistics like gauges on an in dash monitor?

Like in the movie the fast and the furious and other movies how they have the car’s vitals on a screen? I know obd 2 scanners can do it but is it possible to get that info displayed on a head unit? If so how?

Yes, it’s possible, but unless the HU is built to use sensors it ain’t happening.
