Obd Code Reader for Opel?

Purchased an OBD2 Tech reader with USB cable etc … but did not come with instructions and seller does not answer emails.

Any idea how to use it?

Same old story here. Are you sure the reader is NEW!? Anyway, nothing can be done now which makes economical sense to you for the right to have your boxed item with the required instructions. Seller should also be responsible enough to answer emails. Back to your question…..
There should be a plug under the dash on the drivers side. It might be hidden under a simple removable panel similar to fuse-box cover, sometimes it may be found behind the ashtray, or anything similar. The mandatory law is that these OBD plug  must be accessible without any need for tools. Once you identify the plug (should be 16-pin plug) all you need to do is plug it in and switch on to accessories mode. The reader should start working if there is any communication. Any communication error message means either the re is a blown fuse for the OBD plug, or the reader and your OBD system are not compatible with each other. Unlike US vehicles which started using the OBD2 system in all the production vehicles from the beginning of 1996,  in Europe vehicles started being equipped in 2000 and were all officially OBD2 systems by 2002. So in your case EOBD2 readers will only work with the newer cars starting approximately from the year 2000 onwards.
