2004 Ford Explorer..OBD-II code P1502?

The book states that it is the park/neutral switch problem.The starter will not engage..Will this cause the problem with the starter? It is under warranty,I just would like to be somewhat intelligent about it when i speak with them about it..

Neutral start switches have ceased to exist for quite a few years now. With that said, the TR (transmission range) sensor is what functions as the link between the ignition key power in start connection to the starter, as well as the electronic “input” to the PCM (powertrain control module) to indicate shift selector position. A vehicle that new should still be under provided you are within the 3/36.
